Frequently asked

Questions worth answering before you talk

01

Platform and how it works

The basics, before you get into a specific use case.

No. Benefits Paid is infrastructure that sits underneath how a payment moves. It does not require you to switch your primary banking relationship.

Payments already in flight complete on their original method. New payments move onto Benefits Paid starting from whatever date you choose.

Most processors route your payment through infrastructure they license from someone else. Benefits Paid owns the banking infrastructure directly, which is what keeps the timeline fixed instead of dependent on a third party's system.

Pricing depends on your volume and which payment methods you need. Talk to us and we will scope it against your actual numbers, not a generic tier.

02

Payment methods and rails

Five ways money can move, and how each one is chosen.

No. Checks remain a fully supported option. Nothing here is designed to force anyone off a payment method they prefer.

ACH is the standard, reliable rail for scheduled payments, settling same day to next day. FedNow settles in seconds and is available continuously, used when a payment cannot wait for the next standard settlement window.

The recipient chooses through the Digital Wallet, or the operator configures it through the Operator Console, depending on the use case.

No. A prepaid card option exists specifically so banking status is never the reason a payment is delayed.

03

Security and who holds the money

The part most platforms in this space would rather not talk about.

We control the banking infrastructure directly. Funds do not pass through a third party processor's rails, which is what keeps the timeline fixed and the visibility complete.

It surfaces immediately in the Operator Console, before it clears, rather than being caught after the fact during reconciliation.

Yes. Every disbursement carries reporting built in, which matters most for law firms and billing offices that need a record for compliance.

04

For brokers, law firms, TPAs, and billing offices

The operator side, managing money on behalf of others.

No. This only changes how the payment moves once your side of the work is done, not the work itself.

They update their payment details once, and their payment keeps routing without a gap. Coverage and continuity are not tied to a single employer's payroll or a single bank account.

Configured to your firm's specific structure and applied automatically at the point of disbursement, with a record for your file.

Yes, that is what the Operator Console is built for, onboarding, bulk payment movement, fraud flags, and messaging in one view.

05

For policyholders, claimants, and patients

The recipient side, the person actually getting paid.

No. Checks remain fully supported if that is what you prefer.

A prepaid card option is available, so a bank account is never required.

No. This only changes how and when you are paid, never the amount.

Your broker, attorney, or provider's billing office remains your point of contact. Benefits Paid handles the payment, not the underlying relationship.

Still have a question?

Not every situation fits neatly into a category above.
